Nicole’s mother, Debra, was her best friend. Gifted with an adventurous soul, she loved music, dancing and Star Trek. A confirmed Trekkie, Debra once headed off to ComiCon on a whim with a group of online friends and contrary to her daughter’s worst fears, had an amazing time at another Trekkie’s humble house – a sprawling mansion on a horse farm! Unfortunately, Debra’s fear of doctors allowed a mole to turn cancerous and spread. Instead of letting her daughter become paralyzed with grief, Debra prepared her to become head of the family, a gift of strength that inspires her to this day.
