Matt was the first of Kathleen’s 3 sons. He had an infectious laugh and never gave his mom a hard time, “unlike his brothers!” Matt loved live music and travel – teaching math in Thailand to be near his girlfriend. A lump behind his ear turned out to be a rare cancer that went misdiagnosed for years, eventually taking his life. To stop that from happening to anyone else, the annual Saylestock Music Festival is held in his honor to raise money for salivary gland cancer awareness and research. Kathleen feels blessed to have had Matt in her life for 28 years.
