Celebrating the lives of those we have lost, The Lucky Ones is building an original streaming platform that features heartwarming stories about spouses, relatives, friends and mentors who have touched us in a uniquely singular way

The creators of The Lucky Ones, Joseph Alvaro and Matt Zoller Seitz, have both experienced the loss of a loved one.  Matt lost his wife and Joseph his wife and daughter.

While discussing the process of grief and mourning they realized that there was not a venue for people to express themselves about those who had died.  They believe that the healthiest way to deal with such a profound loss is to celebrate the life and relationships of those departed.  That it is essential to the healing process.

Thus was conceived The Lucky Ones.  A place for people, from all walks of life, to celebrate that special someone who has died.  It is a forum where people share their memories and meet and speak to others who have also lost a loved one.

Through remembrances, The Lucky Ones brings to life those we’ve lost in five minute exposés creating a biographical profile that celebrates the loving bond shared between two people.  Using conversation, photos, home movies, memorabilia, letters and cards each story illustrates that there is more to losing someone beyond the cycles of grief and mourning.

Viewers are also encouraged to upload their own stories to share with our audience in 30-90 second Video Views.  A number of which will be invited to participate in full length exposés, to be produced by and featured on The Lucky Ones.

In addition, The Lucky Ones will host a message board and chat room offering the opportunity for folks to share their experiences and help one another find closure.

The uniqueness and life affirming quality of The Lucky Ones is its ability to present its audience with a positive perspective, in an array of stories drawn from the diversity that is our society, while at the same time reinforcing our common humanity. The Lucky Ones is a celebration of life.

Joseph Alvaro shares the experience of losing his wife in this compelling book; providing a unique perspective on a last chapter in the healing process. The book is a celebration of the lives of those we have lost and the love they give us.
